PLSB Staffing Update

We are pleased to announce that PLSB has added two new Legislative Library Consultants to our team:

Jordan DeSousa is a graduate of the MLIS program at Western University in London, Ontario. He moved to Medicine Hat in July 2013 and has been working with Alberta libraries ever since. Jordan brings experience from the library systems, having worked at Shortgrass Library System and most recently Yellowhead Regional Library System.

Miranda Maguire comes to us from Wood Buffalo Regional Library, where she spent several years as the Manager of Reference Services and Adult Services. Miranda earned her MLIS from Western University in London, Ontario in 2009. She has worked in several libraries in both Alberta and Ontario, including the public, academic, and school library sectors.

Jordan and Miranda will be working with Kerry, Jen and Ken in administering the Libraries Act and Libraries Regulation and consulting with and training library boards and trustees.  In addition, Jordan will be taking on responsibility for supporting boards in developing their Plans of Service, while Miranda will be working on developing tools and resources to support boards in the areas of evaluation and assessment.  For those in systems, please note the following system assignments:
