GRANT APPLICATION FOR PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARDS

APPLYING FOR AN OPERATING GRANT

In order to be considered eligible for funding, public library boards must submit four (4) documents as part of their grant application:

  1. 2010 Public Library Survey and 2009 Annual Report of Public Libraries in Alberta - Deadline: FEBRUARY 28, 2010
  2. 2009 Statement of Receipts and Disbursements - Deadline: JUNE 15, 2010
  3. 2010 Budget - Deadline: JUNE 15, 2010
  4. Application for Financial Assistance - Deadline: JUNE 15, 2010

In addition, the library board must receive a local appropriation from council of at least $2.00 per capita and be in compliance with the Libraries Act and Libraries Regulation.

Final application deadline is June 15, 2010 but applications will be processed as soon as they arrive. The application will not be considered to be complete if all documents are not received. Determining which version of the forms to use:

For the Annual Report

  • If you want to fill in the Annual Report electronically, click on the link provided and fill in the form.
  • If you want to fill in the Annual Report manually, right click on the link provided and select "Print Target."

For the financial forms

  • If you want to fill in the financial forms electronically, use the Word format
  • If you want to fill in the financial forms electronically with automatically calculated totals, use the Excel format.
  • If you want to fill in the financial forms manually, use PDF format. (Right click and select "Print Target").

Forms filled in electronically should be saved and/or printed when completed for your board’s records.

All forms must be signed and sent to Alberta Municipal Affairs Public Library Services Branch at the addresses below:
