(L-R: Reeve Ernie Newman, M.D. of Fairview; Mayor Gordon MacLeod, Town of Fairview; and Minister Hector Goudeau)

Mayor Gordon MacLeod was particularly pleased to see the project get underway as he is also the Deputy Chief of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department. MacLeod said "...it is an exciting day for the fire department, the Town and the M.D. of Fairview. I am really happy to be partners with the provincial government and the M.D. on this."

Thanks to the MSI program and collaboration by the Town of  Fairview and the M.D. of Fairview, a new fire hall is being built to serve those communities. Ground was officially broken on the project on September 21.

Minister Goudreau was on hand saying "this has been an ongoing project and a long project for both the Town and the M.D. of Fairview. on behalf of my colleagues, I commend everyone for doing this." Goudreau also stressed the importance of such projects saying "there is no doubt that to function effectively, you need good facilities and good equipment."
