Builder Registry

The Interim Builder Registry (registry) is a listing of licensed residential builders. Currently the registry provides the legal business name, phone number, and website address of builders. Municipalities, warranty providers, and consumers can use the registry to find out who is licensed to construct new residential homes in Alberta.

Beginning December 1, 2017, residential builders intending to build new homes in Alberta must have a provisional or a full builder licence.Information on applying for a licence is available on the Licence Application page.

Registry Search Tips
The registry provides a filter for searching by name. It is accessed by clicking the filter icon located in the Legal Business Name header area of the registry. In addition, a viewer may sort the list alphabetically by clicking in the Legal Business Name header area, a green arrow will appear and can be selected to sort alphabetically ascending or descending.
